Panutsa is typically made by combining lime water and dark brown cane sugar to crystallize the sugar. After that, the mixture is poured into a coconut (hence, the half circle shape), where it will harden.
Buenas Panutsa can be used as a sweetener for your favorite beverages, or as an ingredient to Filipino and Southeast Asian desserts.
